About Us

Old Ways New Tricks

We are bringing some techniques from my experience growing up in West Virginia down to North GA! Our method of fishing has proven to catch fish in the Appalachian Mountains for decades and we hope you're ready for a day of catching.

1/2 day wade trip (4) hours

Wade trips are currently only available at this time but float trips in the future!

We will meet at one of the takeout places on the lower Toccoa River sections after Lake Blue Ride Dam.

What is provided:

Fishing rod and reel (spinning rod and open face reel)

Fishing tackle

What you must have

-GA fishing license with trout license as we must follow GA fishing regulations!

-Pair of your own fishing waders. Felt sole bottom boots or boots with cleats are recommended for traction when wading.

-Fishing vest not required as I will have all tackle and gear for our style of fishing but please bring yours if you like!

Suggested items:

- Hat and/or sunscreen

- Polarized sun glasses

-Camel pack for water while fishing if you have one

What the drift setup looks like

Proven to catch fish

A very simple setup is all it takes! A small float, a couple of split shots, barrel swivel, special fluorocarbon leader, Daiichi® or Raven Sedge hook... and you are all set!

We will be using a size 12, 14, 16, & 18 Daiichi® Skud Hook or a Raven Sedge Hook when using bait. Everything else will be a spinner or on a jig head but all is provided for your use.
